This report was presented to the Queensland Parliament in 1888. It was a survey of the existing conditions and regulations for the commercial oyster growers. It has lists of the licensees and their employees and the location of their leases. The compilers of the report make informed judgements on the financial and production status of the fisheries. Very informative and well researched. There is a section devoted to the dugong fishery at Maryborough which was the sole licensee for Queensland.
A comprehensive illustrated section contains tinted lithographs of oysters in varying states of maturity, lithographs of a Morton Bay Bug, Clams and a Dugong together with folding site maps showing and identifying leases and licensees for the following locations. Amity, Colundra [Coloundra] , Bribie Island, Deception Bay, Stradbroke Island, Russell Island, Kangaroo Island, Brisbane River, Moreton Island, Maryborough. Hervey Bay and Fraser Island.
