Fine, ormulu pocket instrument, double sided, in a maroon buckram case. English. On one side the mercury thermometer arched to fit the circle of the calibrated fahrenheit face. The centre floating card compass is of mother-of- pearl with a locking lever. The face of the card with printed compass rose. On the obverse is a aneroid barometer, with a sophisticated external adjustable bezil, calibrated for the user to incorporate their height above sea level for a more accurate reading of the barometric pressure. The double- sided velvet lined case has a provision for the looped handle that allows the user to chose to use the instrument with or without the case.
