Josiah Wedgewood was a skilled conchologist and his shell collection was extensive. This interest extended into the products his manufactory produced. This porcelain centrepiece is the largest item in the Wedgewood nautilius collection. A twice life size paper nautilius set on a clam shell with a cream glaze.
