The first large scale chart of Wilson's Promontory prepared for the enquiry into establishing a lighthouse on South-East point. Shows a detailed survey of the south and south-east coast of the Promontory from north of Rabbit Island to Cliffy Island in the east. Detailed soundings in Waterloo Bay, Refuge Cove and Sealers Cove.

The surveyor was Comdr. M.G.H.W. Ross. R.N. who was the Marine Surveyor for the Victorian Government during the 1850's.

Published by the Surveyor Generals Office in Melbourne,Aug. 1856.

Some fold lines and in generally good condition.
